As Nigeria joins the world to celebrate International Youth Day 2025, Ambassador Akintunde Akintayo, Founder of the Akin Akintayo Foundation, has called for deeper youth inclusion in governance and leadership.
Akintayo, a youth advocate, praised President Bola Tinubu, and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for appointing young people into key positions, describing the move as a welcome shift toward inclusive governance.
“Beyond political appointments, we must build deliberate pathways for youth involvement in decision-making, policy formulation, and leadership at all levels,” he said.
“Our creativity, energy, and innovation are critical in building a prosperous and sustainable nation.”
He urged young Nigerians to be informed, involved, and inspired, stressing that the country’s future depends on their active participation.
“Nigeria thrives when its young people are trusted with responsibility and given the resources to contribute meaningfully,” he added.
