The member representing Ile-Oluji State Constituency, Nelson Akinsuroju, has described the death of one of his constituents, Mr. Isaiah Bademosi, as “unfortunate and painful”, assuring the bereaved family that justice will be served.
Akinsuroju gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the Bademosi family on Friday, following reports that Isaiah was allegedly killed by his employer, Mr. Rufus Olafusi, in Ile-Oluji.
The lawmaker, who said he visited to get firsthand information, urged the family to remain calm and not take laws into their own hands.
“I sympathize with you at this painful moment. I want to assure you that no stone will be left unturned in unraveling the mystery behind this tragic death. The security agencies are already on the matter and justice will surely prevail,” Akinsuroju said.
Narrating her ordeal, the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Bademosi, accused Olafusi of being responsible for her son’s mysterious death.
“My son was very loyal to him. He used to pick him up from the airport, help him acquire farmlands, and manage his property. I didn’t know anything until he killed my son. They were always together—living, dining, and winning. We need help to get justice,” she lamented.
Also speaking, the deceased’s younger sister, Rachel, recounted her last conversation with him on the night of the incident.
“He borrowed my phone since his was faulty. At about 10:16 p.m., he called me with his boss’s number to request a password. That was the last time I heard from him. The next morning, I was told he was dead. When I got to Olafusi’s house, I saw blood through the bedroom window,” she alleged.
Rachel further claimed that her brother’s body was moved to a mortuary without the knowledge of his wife or immediate family members.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, SP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed that a suspect is already in custody, noting that investigation is ongoing.
Akinsuroju reiterated that the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led administration remains committed to strengthening security measures and equipping security agencies to tackle crime and insecurity in the state.
