End Political Apathy, Register to Vote — Akintayo Tells Nigerian Youth

by Roving

Youth development advocate and philanthropist, Ambassador Akintunde Akintayo, has urged Nigerians—especially young people—to seize the opportunity of the ongoing nationwide voter registration exercise.

Speaking in a telephone interview with journalists, the founder of the Akin Akintayo Foundation decried the growing trend of political apathy, which he described as a major obstacle to good governance in the country.

Akintayo emphasized that registering to vote is the first critical step toward meaningful participation in nation-building, noting that it empowers citizens to make their voices count at the ballot box.

He called on young Nigerians to recognize their numerical strength and influence in shaping the country’s future, stressing that democracy thrives only when citizens actively engage in the electoral process.

The philanthropist further urged youths to mobilize friends, family, and peers to register, insisting that voter registration is not only a civic duty but also a pathway to accountable leadership and sustainable national development.
