Ondo State has been thrown into fresh mourning barely 24 hours after the death of Bola Komo recreational centre owner, Mr. Kunle Adeya, as one of its illustrious sons and seasoned administrators, Barrister Toyin Akinkuotu, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Akinkuotu, a former Head of Service of the state, was widely respected for his dedication to public service and his passion for cultural preservation.
He was the founder of Lujama Heritage, a cultural initiative that championed community identity and heritage revival in Ondo.
In a tribute, Alhaji Akinkunmi M.A (Ph.D), Secretary to the Chairman, described him as a man of indelible impact:
“With a heavy heart, we announce the demise of our beloved brother, the brain behind Lujama Heritage, the former Head of Service, in person of Barrister Toyin Akinkuotu, today, 11th September 2025.
His legacy and contributions to the Ondo State Government and the Ondos will forever be remembered and cherished. May the good Lord grant him eternal rest.”
The back-to-back exit of two prominent figures—Mr. Kunle Adeya (Bola Komo) and Barrister Toyin Akinkuotu—has deepened the grief in Ondo, leaving a void in both the entertainment and public service landscapes.
