Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested two brothers, Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, for alleged robbery during a sting operation on a mechanic workshop in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were apprehended over the weekend following credible intelligence gathered by the Divisional Police Office in Ore.
Confirming the arrest in a statement issued in Akure on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said a locally fabricated pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from the suspects during the raid.
“Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore,” Ayanlade said.
“During the operation, two suspects — one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both residents of Ore — were arrested. A search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge.”
He said the suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to trace the source of the firearm and identify possible links with other criminal groups in the area.
Ayanlade added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, commended the DPO and his team for their swift action and professionalism.
He further urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to help the police sustain the fight against crime in the state.
