Aiyedatiwa Calls for Unity, Promises Development at Ogbagi Day Celebration

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called on the people of Ogbagi-Akoko to continue to live in peace and unity to foster the progress and development of their community.

The Governor made the appeal on Saturday during the 38th Ogbagi Day Celebration held in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Samson Akande, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable development and improved infrastructure across Ondo State.

Aiyedatiwa urged residents to remain law-abiding and supportive of government policies, assuring that his government would not neglect the needs of rural communities.

“The Governor recognizes Ogbagi as an important community in Ondo State, which he holds in high regard. He understands the pains and concerns of the people, especially the deplorable state of the federal road linking Ogbagi to Ikare, from Ado to Ikare,” Akande said.


He further assured the gathering that several developmental projects were underway and that Ogbagi and its environs would soon benefit from the government’s ongoing infrastructure renewal drive.

The Governor also extended warm greetings to the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Victor Adetona, the Owa of Ogbagi, wishing him continued peace, prosperity, and a successful reign.

In his remarks, Oba Adetona described this year’s edition as one of the most remarkable in the history of the community, applauding residents for their commitment to peace and progress.

“Today’s event has been truly glorious. This 38th Ogbagi Day Celebration came with unique glamour. We must sustain peace and unity because without peace, there can be no meaningful development,” the monarch stated.


Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Forestry, Comrade Olorunfemi Chris, commended Aiyedatiwa for his developmental strides across the state, while High Chief Olutope Adebambo (Ajalosi Oloja Ioso) urged residents to cooperate with the monarch and work together for the continued growth of Ogbagi.
