— Says Attacks Are Politically Motivated, Urges End to False Narratives
A youth advocacy group, Young Patriots of Nigeria (YPN), has called for an end to what it described as “malicious and politically motivated attacks” targeting the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), over alleged irregularities surrounding his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.
The group, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, October 23, 2025, stated that verified facts and official clarification from the NYSC authority confirmed that the minister duly participated in the mandatory national service and was issued a discharge certificate.
According to the group, the NYSC has already dismissed the rumours, describing them as false and misleading.
“Enough is enough. We, the Young Patriots of Nigeria, stand firmly against the deliberate attempt by progress saboteurs to soil the image of a proven reformer whose record reflects integrity, innovation, and accountability,”
said Comrade Segun Omojola, the group’s coordinator.
Omojola further commended BTO for his exceptional leadership and transparency, describing him as “a global example of reform-driven leadership.”
He alleged that the renewed efforts to drag BTO into controversy were orchestrated by individuals threatened by his rising influence and reform achievements.
The group also appealed to media practitioners, civil society organisations, and the public to verify claims before publication or sharing, warning that spreading falsehoods weakens public confidence in genuine reformers.
In conclusion, the Young Patriots of Nigeria reaffirmed their unwavering confidence in Dr. Tunji-Ojo, describing him as “a beacon of transparency, youth-driven reform, and credible leadership.”
“We call on Nigerians to rally behind progress and development rather than be distracted by baseless propaganda,” the statement added.
