A businessman and political hopeful, Omolade Phillip Alaba, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Ifedore Constituency I, promising to bring fresh ideas that will complement Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s EASE Agenda.
Speaking with journalists in Akure on Friday, Alaba said his aspiration was driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of his constituency and the state at large through innovative legislation and effective representation.
He expressed admiration for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s seven-point EASE Agenda, which focuses on order and security, rural and urban development, technological advancement, healthcare, power, infrastructure, and education.
“I’m well prepared to complement Governor Aiyedatiwa’s 7-point agenda to move our state forward. His policies are people-centered, and I believe my experience and passion will add value to his vision,” Alaba said.
Alaba, who hails from Ibulesoro, noted that his town has never produced a member of the State House of Assembly since the creation of Ondo State, a situation he hopes to change with his ambition.
“The current lawmaker is not contesting again as he is vying for the House of Representatives. I’ve consulted widely, and my people believe it’s time Ibulesoro had a voice in the Assembly,” he explained.
He pledged to unite political leaders across Ifedore Local Government and ensure the area benefits from more developmental projects, youth empowerment, and women support initiatives.
“The current representative has done well, but I believe I can do more. I will facilitate projects that will empower our youths and women to be self-reliant. We can already see the governor’s good works, like the ongoing reconstruction of Ijare Road — we’ll complement such efforts with our own initiatives,” he added.
Alaba called on constituents to support his ambition, assuring them of inclusive representation and purposeful leadership.
