Crisis Rocks Ondo Amotekun! Commander Accused of Witch-Hunt After Officers Demand Justice

by Roving

A fresh twist has emerged in the ongoing crisis within the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, as counsel to the suspended three officers, Mr. Tope Temokun, has accused the Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, of waging a propaganda war against his clients through sponsored online campaigns.

In a strongly worded statement titled “Truth Will Prevail Over Propaganda in the Amotekun Crisis,” Temokun described the recent wave of allegations against the suspended officers as “cooked-up stories” designed to smear men who only demanded fairness and justice in the system.

“Rather than address the real issues, the Amotekun Commander has resorted to hiring bloggers to demonize the three officers who are only making legitimate demands for justice and fairness within the corps,” the statement read.

According to the lawyer, the Command’s alleged propaganda machinery swung into action immediately after attempts to intimidate and silence the officers failed.

He said the officers were being unjustly portrayed as criminals despite holding meetings with senior officials of the Command over their 15-point demand for improved welfare and documentation of their appointments.

Meetings Confirmed by Amotekun Delegates

Temokun listed senior officers who reportedly represented the Amotekun Command in two meetings with the affected officers. The delegation included AC Oge Olaniyan, AC Ganiyu Olalere, AC Adedayo Ogundana, AC Sesan Adebayo, Akewusola Tajudeen, and Adegbenro Adesoji.

The meetings, according to him, were held on October 17 and October 23, 2025, at the Senior Staff Club in Akure.

He said the officers had earlier submitted a 15-point demand to the Command, accompanied by copies of appointment letters from sister Amotekun corps in Ekiti, Ogun, and Osun States, questioning why the Ondo State officers were treated differently.

“If indeed they were guilty of all these ‘crimes’ now flying around, why were those meetings held? Why meet with ‘criminals’?” Temokun queried.

‘Blackmail Will Fail’

The lawyer accused the Commander of turning to “blackmail and demonization” after realizing that the officers’ demands were legitimate. He said the attempts to paint the men as criminals were part of a desperate cover-up to evade accountability.

“Intimidation, blackmail, force, and now demonization — these are the old tactics of small tyrants who fear accountability,” he said.

Temokun also noted that the meetings and photographic evidence of the officers’ engagement with the Command remain verifiable proof that the current media onslaught was premeditated and unfounded.

He concluded by expressing confidence that “in the fullness of time, truth and justice shall prevail.”

Background

The Ondo State Amotekun Corps had, earlier this week, suspended and declared three of its officers wanted for alleged misconduct. The officers — Abu Taiwo, Akinsipe Victor, and Ekujumi Julius — were accused of various offences including attempted robbery and insubordination.
However, their counsel insists that the allegations are retaliatory, following their demand for transparency and proper documentation of their employment status.
