• BTO Ambassadors Inaugurate Women’s Wing

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, an independent support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, the BTO Ambassadors, has inaugurated its Women’s Wing across the 12 wards of Ose Local Government Area.

The inauguration, held at Ifon—the council headquarters—was a colourful event that drew political figures, community leaders, traders, farmers, and artisans from various communities.

The newly inaugurated ward women leaders will work under the coordination of the Ose Local Government Women Leader, Mrs. Labake Awodeyi, wife of Colonel S. B. Awodeyi (rtd.), a respected community leader and politician.

In his welcome address, the group’s leader, Engr. Babatunde Gbalajobi, charged the women to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and his ongoing national transformation agenda.

Gbalajobi commended their loyalty and dedication to progressive ideals, urging them to leverage their influence as homemakers, traders, and community mobilisers to advance the group’s objectives.

“We believe women are not just supporters but strategic partners in governance and nation-building. What we are witnessing today is the awakening of that collective energy toward promoting President Tinubu’s achievements and sustaining his mandate in 2027,” Gbalajobi stated.

He added that women’s voices and grassroots strength are crucial to consolidating President Tinubu’s legacies, a vision championed by the group’s convener, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior.

Speaking at the event, APC leader in Ose Local Government and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. OmosuleEniolorunda, described the women as dedicated party loyalists who have shown uncommon commitment to the progress of the APC.

He assured them that their efforts would not go unrewarded, promising that the dividends of democracy would trickle down to the grassroots through their collective work.

Also addressing the gathering, the BTO Ambassadors’ Coordinator, Hon. Raheem Saliu, urged the women to approach their new responsibilities with sincerity, discipline, and focus. He applauded their enthusiasm and reaffirmed the group’s resolve to deepen women’s participation in politics and leadership.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Labake Awodeyi expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to work tirelessly with her team to actualise the BTO Ambassadors’ mission across all wards in Ose.

The event also featured goodwill messages from political leaders, including the Director General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Asiwaju Olimuyiwa Asagunla; the Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Women Engagement, Erelu Ajonibode; and Hon. Feyisetan Awodeyi, former Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation.

Dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Bobade Omolade, Hon. Adelana Adesida Henry, Hon. (Mrs.) Ologokun Bosede, Hon. Kunle Omogunwa (Special Adviser to the Minister of Interior on Political Affairs), Mrs. Joyce Olugbemisola, and Hon. Friday Ebegbe.
