Bolaji Daramola: “Only Enlightened Citizens Can Change Nigeria”

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Ondo State is intensifying its grassroots mobilisation efforts as it inaugurated polling unit leaders across Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, charging them to promote the party’s ideals and expand political awareness at the community level.

Speaking at a strategic meeting with the newly inaugurated leaders, prominent YPP stalwart Hon. Bolaji Daramola said the party remains resolute in its mission to offer Nigerians a credible alternative to the existing political order.

He stressed that sustainable transformation of Nigeria’s governance and leadership landscape depends on building an informed and active citizenry capable of driving meaningful change.

According to Daramola, “The status quo can only be broken through deliberate and concerted efforts aimed at entrenching political literacy and participatory democracy.

Nigerians must be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to hold leaders accountable and shape policy directions.”

A strong advocate of grassroots empowerment, Daramola reaffirmed his commitment to continuous enlightenment and mobilisation of constituents, saying the YPP’s goal is to catalyse a paradigm shift that prioritises transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in governance.

Also speaking, State Secretary of the Party, Henry Olonimoyo, reiterated YPP’s dedication to empowering citizens through comprehensive political education and leadership training initiatives.

He noted that the party is investing in structured programmes designed to help Nigerians navigate the complexities of the democratic process, ensuring that more citizens participate actively and responsibly in nation-building.

Olonimoyo added that YPP’s strategy is to build a politically conscious society where the people—not politicians—shape the course of governance.
