Former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Mr. Eni Akinsola, has announced the passing of his mother, Olori Comfort Oladuti Akinsola (Yèmi), describing her as “the world I knew” and a steadfast pillar throughout his life.
Akinsola shared the heartfelt tribute on his Facebook page on Saturday, recalling his mother’s devotion to faith, family, and resilience despite several personal tragedies during her lifetime.
According to him, Olori Akinsola lived a life marked by unwavering belief in God and remarkable strength in the face of adversity — surviving a midlife health crisis, a near-fatal accident, and the painful loss of her first and last children, as well as the passing of her husband years earlier.
He wrote that she shaped his values, faith, and character, noting that her unique blend of discipline, humour, and spirituality defined his childhood and adulthood.
“Some might call it abuse, but I called it her own special way of showing love,” Akinsola said, while recounting her strict prayer routines and signature teasing that bonded the family.
Despite her challenges, he said she enjoyed love, care and kindness from God, her children, stepchildren and everyone whose lives she touched.
Akinsola expressed gratitude to God on behalf of his siblings, declaring: “Help me and my siblings thank God for the gift of our mother. He gave us her, and just took her. Hallelujah!”
He added that, according to her wish, Olori Comfort Akinsola will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Her passing, he said, marks the peaceful transition of a woman of deep faith and enduring strength — “called home” after a life of trials, triumphs and thanksgiving.
