Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Aborigines in Ondo State have declared that fostering unity among party stakeholders is critical to securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential poll.
Speaking in Akure during the formal inauguration of the local government and ward coordinating committees for Tinubu 2027 in Akure South and Akure North, the convener of the group and former Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Ambassador Sola Iji, emphasised that only a united front can guarantee massive bloc votes for the president.
According to Iji, unity must be deliberately pursued by all leaders and members of the party.
He said: “As we go out to ensure maximum mobilisation for President Tinubu’s re-election, we must recognise that unity among party leaders and members is a preliminary condition for enhanced delivery at the polls. This must be pursued by all well-meaning stakeholders who desire a decent outing for the party in the 2027 general elections.”
Iji assured that the Aborigines group—structured with ten coordinating committee members in every ward and five canvassers at each polling unit—will significantly boost President Tinubu’s vote tally in the election.
Also speaking, a party chieftain in Akure South Local Government, Dr. S. B. Akerele, underscored the need to maintain unity within the party ranks.
He commended members of the group for their steadfast commitment to the APC and prayed for divine reward for their contributions.
Similarly, Professor Folorunso Davies urged members to brace up for intensive mobilisation, noting that some of the economic reforms initiated by President Tinubu were already yielding results, with better outcomes expected in the coming years.
