The Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT) has commenced an extensive voter mobilisation and membership drive across Ondo State as part of efforts to strengthen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election machinery ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Director-General of the group, Pastor Olumide Obadele, announced the initiative on Tuesday during a press briefing in Akure, the state capital, saying the exercise would cover all 3,933 polling units in the state.
Obadele explained that the membership drive, tagged “Harvesting of Voters,” would primarily target eligible voters with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), noting that the exercise is distinct from the ongoing APC e-registration process.
According to him, PNT has concluded plans to raise at least 50 members in each polling unit, alongside other political programmes aimed at ensuring a massive victory for President Tinubu in 2027.
He said the initiative followed a post-assessment of the group’s four months of operations in Ondo State, describing the period as productive and impactful.
“We have built functional structures across the state, local government areas and wards. Now, we are moving to the polling units. Our vision is clear and our goals are specific,” Obadele said.
The PNT DG described the group as one of the most media-engaged pro-Tinubu support groups in the state, adding that its aggressive grassroots mobilisation would be intensified in the new year.
Obadele also commended the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for what he described as his “immeasurable contributions” to the stability of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, particularly during a critical period.
He singled out Tunji-Ojo’s humanitarian interventions during the 2025 Yuletide season, describing the gesture as unprecedented and widely acknowledged across the state.
“The last four months have been very productive, largely due to strategic partnership and support. Dr Tunji-Ojo has continued to play a priceless role both in the President’s administration and in sustaining the APC in Ondo State,” he said.
Obadele further praised the Tinubu-led administration for what he described as economic stabilisation, citing declining prices of food items, household goods and petroleum products.
He said the administration’s policies and intervention programmes were beginning to have positive effects on ordinary Nigerians, especially those at the grassroots.
