The Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede OFR has urged Nigerians to exhibit unconditional love to one another during this Christmas season.
He said Christmas, which marks the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ symbolises love, care and compassion for persons, especially the weak, vulnerable and less-privileged in society.
According to him, this is another opportunity to increase our acts of kindness and to reach out to the distressed in our neighbourhoods. He said the impact of spreading true love helps strengthen our peaceful coexistence that leads to unity and development, which in turn move our community and the nation at large forward.
Oba Agbede reiterated the importance of prayers for the unity, peace, progress and prosperity of our country. He said this is to seek the face of God in all situations, particularly, for our leaders, as patriotic citizens.
He also expressed the need to rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, which preaches tolerance, patience, kindness, selflessness, among other virtues.
He therefore enjoined every Nigerian to keep believing in our country, and be rest assured that all these challenges facing our country now would soon be a thing of the past, and urged everyone to eschew any act that can truncate the unity of our country.
