A member of the Gender Frontier Development Initiatives (GFDI), Orikogbo Segun Felix has narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by some hoodlums in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The alleged attack on his life happened in his residence, No 10 Abusoro, Akure, on 3rd of March 2023.
Felix, who carries out a strong advocacy for female genital mutilation in ondo state, managed to escape the attack.
However his abusoro habitation was raised by fire no thanks to these assailants.
Thoughts also abound that the attack might have been unconnected to the advocacy of Felix, Who also admits openly that He is bisexual.
Speaking with Newsmen after the ugly incident, Orikogbo Segun Felix said he was in shock and could not phatom why the suspects were after his life.
“Those suspects came around 9pm and kept banging my entrance door. I first wanted to open but I suspected their movement so I didn’t open.
“They kept shouting, open this door , open this door. I managed to go through the backdoor and jumped the fence.
“When I came back the following morning, I found my house razed down.
“I don’t know what I have done wrong and why anyone would insist I must be killed.
“I want the police to investigate this matter and arrest the culprit. I am no longer safe in my own country. It is very unfortunate.“
