Public Holiday Disrupts Ondo SS2 Exams – New Date Announced

Students sitting for the ongoing SS2 Promotion Examinations in Ondo State will now have more time to prepare, following a last-minute change in the timetable due to a national development.

The Ondo State Government has announced the rescheduling of three major papers—English Language, Commerce, and Woodwork—which were earlier slated for today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the state explained that the postponement became necessary after the Federal Government declared a public holiday to mourn the passing of former Nigerian President, General Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in a London hospital.

The announcement disrupted school activities statewide, prompting the Ministry to swiftly shift the affected exams to Thursday, July 24, 2025.

According to Dr. Akindele Ige, the Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, the decision is in line with national directives and meant to respect the solemnity of the day.

He urged all students to take advantage of the extended timeline to intensify their preparations and approach the rescheduled papers with renewed focus.

“The Ministry appreciates the understanding of parents, teachers, and students at this time,” the statement concluded.
