In a powerful show of compassion and community service, over 100 local farmers in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo area of Ondo State received essential farm tools and free medical care, courtesy of the Akin Akintayo Foundation.
The outreach, held on Tuesday, July 22, brought smiles and relief to hundreds of rural dwellers who often lack access to basic support services.
The Foundation, led by Ambassador Akintunde Akintayo, provided farmers with crucial equipment designed to enhance agricultural productivity and reduce the burden of manual labour.
“For us, this is about more than tools—it’s about dignity, survival, and giving our farmers a fighting chance to thrive,” said Ambassador Akintayo during the event.
He noted that empowering grassroots communities has remained a core mission of his Foundation, especially in sectors like agriculture that form the backbone of rural livelihoods.
But the support didn’t stop at farming. Recognizing the health challenges many in the area face, the Foundation also set up free health screenings.
Licensed medical personnel offered consultations, administered routine medications, and addressed a wide range of health concerns.
Beneficiaries described the outreach as “timely and life-saving.” Some elderly farmers wept openly, expressing gratitude for what they called the “first time in years” that someone remembered them beyond election season.
Community leaders, farmers’ associations, and youth groups were in attendance, hailing the initiative as a model for grassroots development.
“If more Nigerians did what Akintayo is doing, our villages would be safer, healthier, and more productive,” one youth leader remarked.
Ambassador Akintayo urged other privileged individuals and organizations to look beyond politics and profit, and give back to the communities that often feel forgotten.
“This is not charity—it’s a duty,” he said.
