It was a moment of pride and celebration at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Akure, as senior officers of the Nigerian Army who recently earned promotions from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel were decorated amid pomp and applause.
The investiture ceremony, held on October 29, 2025, at the Officers’ Mess, attracted families, colleagues, and friends who joined in honouring the officers’ milestone achievement.
In his address, the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to remain steadfast, disciplined, and loyal to the ideals of the Nigerian Army.
“You must sustain the tempo. Your hard work, loyalty, and dedication have brought you this far. Continue to be exemplary leaders as you take on higher responsibilities,” he said.
The Commander also commended the spouses of the officers for their sacrifices and unwavering support, noting that the home front remains a vital pillar for professional success in the military.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Colonel A.Y. Ardo expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the confidence reposed in them. He also thanked Brigadier General Ifeanyi for his mentorship and leadership.
“We remain deeply grateful for this recognition. We pledge our unalloyed loyalty to the Nigerian Army and will continue to serve with dedication and integrity,” he assured.
The newly promoted officers are Colonel A.Y. Ardo and Colonel M.H. Gombe. The event featured goodwill messages, family celebrations, and photographs to mark the officers’ elevation.
