The Ondo State Football Association (FA) has suspended the Chairperson of the State Football Coaches Association, Mrs. Tayo Onilude, along with her entire executive committee, following allegations of misconduct and administrative lapses.

The decision was reached at the FA Board meeting held on Wednesday at the Police Officers’ Mess, Akure, where members unanimously adopted the recommendations of an ethics committee earlier set up to investigate the Coaches Association’s activities.

The ethics committee, chaired by former FA boss, Chief Dele Ogungbemi, with Mike Oluwabonmi as Vice Chairman, Pastor Henry Akingboju and Pastor Dotun Omoogun as members, and Femi Atolagbe as Secretary, cited several infractions, including operating without a valid statute, arbitrary suspension of members, and poor administrative management.

In its report, the committee recommended the immediate dissolution of the Onilude-led executive and the establishment of a six-month caretaker committee to steer the association’s affairs until fresh elections are conducted. It also ruled that members of the caretaker committee would not be eligible to contest in the coming election.

Following the adoption of the report, the FA Board announced the appointment of Adebola Tominiyi as the Caretaker Chairman, Gabriel Olatunji as Secretary, and Ibrahim Tunbosun as a member of the committee.

The FA further lifted all indefinite suspensions earlier imposed by the Onilude-led administration on members of the association.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Onilude has been directed to hand over all association properties to the caretaker committee within 24 hours after their swearing-in, which is scheduled to hold on Thursday in Akure.
