Joy, gratitude and emotion filled the air at the Mother and Child Hospital, Oke Aro, Akure, on Thursday as Mrs. Bunmi Jayeola safely delivered a rare set of triplets, three bouncing baby boys, in the early hours of the day.
The successful delivery immediately attracted goodwill and celebration within the hospital community, as medical personnel, family members and well-wishers hailed the safe arrival of the newborns, describing it as a blessing not only to the family but to Ondo State at large.
Upon receiving the heartwarming news, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement (Central), Aarẹ (Dr.) Oluwafemi Fadairo, paid an unscheduled visit to the hospital to personally congratulate the mother, her husband, and the newborn triplets.
Moved by compassion and a sense of shared responsibility, Hon. Fadairo presented the family with a cash gift of One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000) to assist with the immediate needs and upkeep of the babies. In a further show of empathy, he also extended his humanitarian gesture to other nursing mothers in the ward, presenting each of them with Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000).
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Fadairo described the birth as a moment of hope and divine favor, urging society to rally around families blessed with multiple births.
“The arrival of these triplets is not just a personal joy for this family, it is a blessing to our entire community,” Fadairo said.
“As a people, we must always show compassion and support, especially at moments like this. Government alone cannot do everything; collective care and shared responsibility are key to nurturing life and building a stronger society.”
He further called on well-meaning individuals, philanthropists and corporate organizations to support the family, stressing that raising triplets requires enormous resources and communal backing.
An emotional Mrs. Jayeola, speaking from her hospital bed, could not hold back her gratitude as she thanked Hon. Fadairo for the unexpected visit and timely assistance.
“I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. I did not expect this kind of support,” she said tearfully.
“May God reward Hon. Fadairo and everyone who has shown us love. This kindness has lifted a huge burden from our hearts.”
Hospital staff and other nursing mothers also praised Hon. Fadairo’s gesture, describing it as a rare display of genuine leadership and people-centered governance.
The visit once again underscores Hon. Fadairo’s reputation as a grassroots-oriented public servant whose commitment to community welfare goes beyond official duty, reinforcing the humane face of governance in Ondo State.
