As Ondo State marks its 50th anniversary, the management of The Dome International Event Centre has described the proposed Ondo Seaport and Refinery projects as transformative initiatives capable of reshaping the state’s economic landscape and positioning it as a major industrial and maritime hub in Nigeria.

In a statement by the Managing Director of Cavudos Nigeria Limited, managers of The Dome, Prince Akinwunmi Falodun, the projects were described as bold and visionary, with the potential to attract massive investments, create thousands of jobs, stimulate industrial growth, and significantly boost the state’s internally generated revenue.

Prince Falodun commended the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the passion, clarity of purpose, and renewed drive with which his administration is pursuing the realisation of the seaport and refinery.

He urged the governor to sustain the political will and momentum required to see the projects through to completion.

“The Ondo Seaport and Refinery represent more than infrastructure.
They symbolise opportunity, economic rebirth, and a future where Ondo State fully harnesses its coastal advantage and natural endowments for the benefit of its people,” the statement said.

According to him, the successful delivery of the projects would not only open the state to global trade and investment but also catalyse growth in complementary sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, hospitality, and services, thereby redefining Ondo State’s role in the national economy.

Aligning the projects with the Golden Jubilee celebration, the statement noted that the 50th anniversary presents a fitting moment for reflection and renewed commitment to sustainable development and long-term economic planning.

Prince Falodun also congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on the milestone, describing the past five decades as a journey marked by resilience, cultural pride, and steady progress.

He praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership style, particularly his emphasis on partnership, institutional continuity, and confidence-building, which he said has enabled public assets such as The Dome to thrive as platforms for dialogue, creativity, enterprise, and social cohesion.

“The sustained support of the Ondo State Government has allowed The Dome to serve not merely as a structure, but as a living civic space that brings people together and reflects the aspirations of our state,” he said.

The statement further paid tribute to the people of Ondo State, describing them as the true drivers of growth through their resilience, unity, and enduring communal spirit.

Reaffirming The Dome’s commitment to excellence, service, and collaboration, Prince Falodun pledged continued support for initiatives that promote economic growth, cultural expression, and meaningful engagement across the state.

As Ondo State looks beyond its first fifty years, the management of The Dome expressed optimism that visionary projects such as the seaport and refinery, if pursued with consistency and integrity, would define a more prosperous future for the state.

“Happy 50th Anniversary, Ondo State. The journey continues, and we are proud to stand within it,” the statement concluded.
