Gospel music legend, Pastor Joseph A. Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, has expressed deep gratitude to God and the Lagos State Government following the successful hosting of the Ariya Eko Independence Festival 2025.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, Adelakun described the event as “a celebration of Lagos, of culture, and of the timeless sounds that have shaped our nation.”
The festival, held on Sunday, October 5, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, brought together some of Nigeria’s greatest music icons, including Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Dele Abiodun, and General Kolington Ayinla.
Adelakun noted that it was “an honour” to stand alongside such distinguished artistes as they celebrated decades of grace, artistry, and impact.
He praised the Lagos State Government for recognizing the place of gospel and indigenous music in preserving Nigeria’s cultural identity and heritage.
“May the rhythms of our land continue to glorify God, unite generations, and inspire hope,” he wrote, while also appreciating lovers of true artistry for keeping the light of music alive.
The Ariya Eko Independence Festival was part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, with performances that thrilled audiences and reaffirmed the power of music as a bridge across generations.
