Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, played host to a gathering of top journalists, dignitaries, and well-wishers as TVC News Ondo State Correspondent, Ayodeji Moradeyo, held the final burial ceremony of his late father, Pa David Ademola Moradeyo.
The event, held at Jisol Hall, Ibadan, was filled with emotion and celebration of life as colleagues, family, and friends paid glowing tributes to the departed patriarch.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, led by their Chairman, Omo’ba Leke Adegbite, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
The NUJ delegation commiserated with the Moradeyo family, praying for divine comfort and urging them to sustain their father’s enduring legacy of discipline and integrity.
In his remarks, Moradeyo expressed deep appreciation to colleagues and guests for their overwhelming support.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude to members of the NUJ led by Omo’ba Leke Adegbite. They stood by me through it all, and I will forever be grateful,” he said.
Fondly known as Ayolomo, the journalist described his late father as a principled man who placed high value on education and moral upbringing.
“My father was a disciplinarian who gave us sound education and moral training. His legacy will continue to guide us,” he added.
Pa David Ademola Moradeyo passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving behind children, grandchildren, and an inspiring legacy of integrity and hard work.
