The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement (Central), Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo, has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Aarẹ́ Amúlùdún of Iju Land by the Okiti of Iju Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Amos Adelakun Farukanmi (JP).
The honour was bestowed during a colourful double celebration marking the monarch’s 82nd birthday and 38th coronation anniversary, held in Iju Land on Saturday.
The title Amúlùdún, derived from Yoruba expressions meaning “one who makes the town sweet,” recognises Hon. Fadairo’s positive influence, cultural commitment, and consistent efforts in fostering unity and grassroots development across communities.
Speaking after the conferment, Hon. Fadairo expressed profound gratitude to the monarch and the people of Iju Land for the rare honour.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition. This title is not just for me, but for every community I have had the privilege to serve,” he said.
He described the honour as a renewed call to service, noting that traditional recognition comes with responsibility.
“Being named Aarẹ́ Amúlùdún means I must do even more to promote peace, development and happiness among the people. I accept this title with a strong sense of duty and commitment,” Fadairo added.
