The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has described Nigeria’s entertainment industry as a global force and a vital driver of economic growth, creativity and national pride.
Tunji-Ojo stated this on Thursday after an engagement with members of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), led by its President, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin.
The minister said the meeting provided an opportunity for robust discussions on collaboration between the government and stakeholders in the creative sector, stressing that governance remains a shared responsibility among patriotic Nigerians.
He noted that the engagement followed his recent recognition as “Man of the Year” at TAMPAN’s National Professional and Empowerment Summit, an honour he described as a validation of ongoing reforms and improved service delivery within the Ministry of Interior.
According to him, Nigeria’s entertainment industry remains unmatched, distinguished by its creativity, humour and compelling storytelling, while also serving as a powerful economic engine with global reach.
Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting and empowering creative talents across the country, adding that strategic partnerships with industry practitioners would help drive sustainable national development.
He emphasized that strengthening collaboration between government institutions and the creative industry would further enhance opportunities for Nigerian talents and consolidate the sector’s contribution to the nation’s socio-economic growth.
