The Ondo State Women’s Coordinator of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms will significantly reduce the price of rice to about ₦20,000 per bag in the coming years.
Speaking in Ondo town on Thursday during a sensitisation programme organised for women across the six local government areas of Ondo Central Senatorial District, Adeyanju said the reforms introduced by the President were already reshaping market dynamics.
“Very soon, Nigerians will start buying rice for ₦20,000 per bag because of what the President has achieved in the last two years. As a trader, I understand market patterns. Two years ago, rice sold for as high as ₦180,000 to ₦200,000 per bag. I can assure you that within the next two years, we will be buying rice for less than ₦20,000,” she said.
Adeyanju, a former commissioner in Ondo State, described the programme as part of the nationwide sensitisation drive championed by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration and strengthen support for the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to her, the AMG Women’s Wing has been mandated to mobilise female voters across all 18 local government areas of the state to ensure overwhelming support for the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Director-General of AMG, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, also commended President Tinubu for the commencement of the Benin–Owo–Akure–Ilesha–Ibadan road reconstruction, describing it as a major boost to economic activities and inter-state movement.
Asagunla noted that initiatives such as the NELFUND student loan scheme demonstrated the President’s commitment to human capital development and citizens’ welfare.
He added that the group had intensified grassroots mobilisation to consolidate Tinubu’s rising popularity in the South-West.
He further urged parents to encourage their children to enrol in technical colleges, which he said are now tuition-free under the current administration.
At the end of the programme, the AMG Women’s Wing resolved to deliver massive votes for President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general election.

The envisaged N20,000 per bag of rice is a mirage being promised as part of 2027 campaign for Tinubu. Nigerians are totally disappointed by what Tinubu’s administration is doing to make the economic condition unfavourable to Nigerian citizens.
